Curiously, the later reformed Sith Empire used a six-spoked symbol similar to the one used by the Republic after the Second Sith Civil War. Basically, both the theirs and the Sith symbol were inspired by the Bendu and aren't related to each other necessarily. The Galactic Republic (Clone Wars era) symbol pictured there is inspired by the Bendu monks.
